The body. It is much more eloquent and candid in telling the story of life. Fragile, vulnerable, mortal, it is at the same time incredibly strong and resilient. Scars, bruises, and scrapes, like entries in a medical record, are visible proof of how many battles we have fought, won, and survived. But it turns out the body isn’t just about fear, pain, and exhaustion. It’s also about tender embraces, sunlight dancing across the skin, the melting sweetness of chocolate on the tongue. With care and respect, it can become a map leading back to oneself—or a trusted companion in exploring the whole wide world.

These photographs, the starting point of an exploration of corporeality, were supposed to tell a story of hostility, total mistrust, fear. But the love, respect, and gratitude for my body suddenly revealed to me while photographing my husband inspired rhymes, transforming what was meant to be a bleak confession of despair into psalms of compassion.
